Global Cinema Industry – Overview
The global cinema industry has been steadily growing, with revenues projected to reach around $86 billion by 2025 and expected to surpass $108 billion by 2030. The number of cinema screens worldwide is estimated to be around 200,000, with international markets contributing over half of global box office revenues.
Premium formats such as IMAX, 3D, and other large-format theaters are becoming increasingly important, attracting audiences willing to pay higher ticket prices for immersive experiences. While the industry continues to recover post-pandemic, competition from streaming platforms has changed audience behavior, making theaters focus more on quality experiences rather than just high footfall.
